About Us

Narooma Cinemas,(Kinema) with its art deco influence and ambience, is something appreciated by locals and tourists alike. Narooma Cinemas is housed in the historic Soldiers Memorial School of Arts Hall which has been placed on the National Heritage Register because of its significance to the Community. Screening films since 1928 is the 4th oldest cinema screening films in Australia. The character of this Edwardian building has been maintained, enter the foyer and you can feel its charm. Walk into the main theatre, Cinema 1 and you are in yesteryear. Enter the boutique Cinema 2 and you feel its touch of gold.

While the building & theatre creates old world charm, this boutique cinema with two screens has the latest digital projection system incorporating 3D, this brings this small regional boutique cinema in line with major city cinemas.

The New York Metropolitan Opera in HD is shown exclusively on the South Coast at Narooma Cinemasand this continues to be enjoyed by all opera lovers which includes  currently screening new 2012-2013 Summer Season, this has been a wonderful addition as well as the British National Theatre Trust plays .  The Cinema is available for live performances  which includes theatre  and  throughout the year you will see these advertised.
